Typhoon Parma (Pepeng) has reached the Philippines 
Typhoon Parma (Pepeng) has accelerated West Northwest for the past two hours.

Landfall is now at the horn of the Philippines east of Tuguegarao. Palaui Island has been evacuated.





Typhoon Melor has again turned westwards. It maintains very high windspeed and is with 935 hpa stronger than Parma with 955 hpa

Update Typhoon PARMA (Pepeng) from 2009-10-02 /11:00pm UTC+8 

The Typhoon slowly moves North.



Our partners in Naga report that the waters of the Bicol River go back.
The satellite and radar images show heavy rain in the most northern parts of Ilocos. The Cagayan Valley seems to be touched.

We are awaiting the latest reports from PAGASA and from our friends in Naga (Bicol) and San Fernando (La Union).

Update Typhoon PARMA (Pepeng) from 2009-10-02 / 5:30pm 
PAGASA updates: At 4:00 am today, Typhoon "PEPENG" {PARMA} was located based on satellite and surface data at 270 km East of Virac, Catanduanes (14.0°N 127.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 195 kph and gustiness of up to 230 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 19 kph.

Typhoon Parma (Pepeng) maintains strength and moves with 30km/h north-west.



PAGASA expects Parma (Pepeng) to make landfall Saturday noon in Aurora-Isabela.

Typhoon Melor has now also reached wind speeds of 215km/h and moves west with 9km/h

The typhoon has again strengthened: Maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 230 km/h.

Update 5:00PM UTC+8: PAGASA expects the Typhhon to make landfall on Saturday morning in the area of Aurora-Isabela in North Luzon

New outlook predicts a Category 4 Typhoon when approaching North Luzon.

- 19W PARMA (Pepeng) has been upgraded to Typhoon Category 1
- 18W weakens and moves north-west
- 20W has now the name MELOR and is classified as Tropical Storm



PARMA (Pepeng) is expected to increase to a Typhoon Category 3 by Friday morning.

Ondoy left the Philippines - Tropical Depression 18 moves in 
While Tropical Storm KETSANA - ONDOY leaves the Philippines in direction of Vietnam, a new Tropical Depreesion (Number 18) forms over Guam.

There is no alert yet, but the isobaric map shows a series of 2 low pressure zones moving west on 10° North.

None of the SEA Weather Agencies has yet published a warning or alert.
