According to a CAAP (Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines) memo dated January 25, 2010, CEB aircraft can now take off both ways in the Godofredo Ramos Airport runway. In the event of unavoidable airport conditions, flights to Caticlan may still be diverted to Kalibo.
Starting March 1, 2010, CEB will gradually reintroduce its Caticlan flights into service, beginning with the transfer of four Manila-Kalibo and one Cebu-Kalibo flights to Caticlan.
The airline expects to resume full Caticlan operations by March 28, 2010, with 11 Manila-Caticlan Manila flights and 1 Cebu-Caticlan-Cebu flight daily. This gives CEB the most number of airline seats to and from Caticlan.
And when will SEAIR come back to Camiguin?

( 2.8 / 25 )Philippines' cities need more and more energy.
Iloilo City, currently consuming from 70 to 75 megawatts, is expected to increase its power demand starting next year since several call centers and commercial hubs are in place.
The first coal-fired power plant in Panay with 164 megawatts is more than enough to supply power in Iloilo City, the rest of Panay Island, and Negros Occidental.
Completion of the coal plant is slated before the end of 2010 and is expected to bring down the cost of power in Panay.
The biggest problem to resolve is the integration in the national grid. So many local powerplants have to be synchronized for they may exchange and complement their production.
Electricity is an on-demand product. It has t o be produced at the same moment as it is needed.
Interesting information about power grids can be found on the website of the IEC:

( 2.7 / 22 )Wind isn't the problem but the rain.
In Camiguin it is heavily raining for 18 hours now.
We already got over 70cm of water. And it will continue.
All the agencies predict a loob back of the Tropical Depression 27W - URDUJA.
This means that the very bad weather in the southern Visayas and Mindanao will not get better until end of this week.

PAGASA maintains Signal No.1 (30-60 km/h winds) in:
Bohol
Leyte Provinces
Camotes Island
Biliran
Eastern Samar
Western Samar
Surigao Provinces
Agusan del Norte
Dinagat Island
Siargao Island
Camiguin
The soil is full of water. Beware of landslides and falling rocks.

( 3 / 10 )For over a week rainy weather haunts the southern Visayas and Mindanao. Why?
The ITCZ did move southwards about 3 weeks earlier than usual.
A zone of low pressure, now declared a tropical depression stays east of Mindanao and does not move.
This depression steers the wet air (yellow arrow) from east (from Palau) to the southern Philippines.
