Animals in Bohol
The Philippines are very rich of animals. In Bohol you can find them nearly everywhere. The only things you need is enough time and a good guide. (Thanks Hampi).

First a Tarsier

There is only one location where tarsiers are allowed to be held in captivity: The Tarsier Foundation in Corella.

In the woods near Bilar you find less nice but interesting animals:
Giant Millipedes

Be careful, these animals of about 1 to 1.5 feet are poisonous. Avoid the secreted liquid and have alcohol with you to wash your skin.

Near Batuan you can see over 90 varieties of butterflies.

Birds can be seen nearly everywhere.

2) PAL Express will open in September flights from Cebu to Mambajao. We hope, this rumor becomes true.

3) The 2008 Lanzones Festival will be held from October 17 to 24 and will have the honor to welcome President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo

A new resort got the "Silent Gardens" label
Congratulations to "Jasmin by the Sea".
This small resort in Bug-ong (Camiguin) got our quality label for both, the rooms and the restaurant. Jasmin by the sea is very small, only 4 rooms, but just this smallness makes it a rare pearl. And even if it's small, this resort provides you with any comfort you may request and organizes any activity from diving trips to mountain hikes.

Tabing Dagat
Tabing Dagat or the Culinary Discovery

In the Philippines it is often difficult to find a good restaurant with original Filipino cuisine. Either you go to a resort or a big western hotel and you eat some western style food. Or you go to an eatery and make your choice out of several pots.

The Tabing Dagat in Cagayan de Oro makes the difference. Situated in Opol, some 20 minutes by car from Cagayan de Oro, you find the Tabing Dagat at the end of a pier like you find them in Brighton or Bournemouth.

The decoration is all bamboo and the menu card makes you dream. With life piano music in the background, a fresh sea breeze and candle light, your dinner becomes a really special moment.

The food quality and the presentation are outstanding. The seafood is certified catch of the day. Think of 3 hours for a dinner with friends and do reserve a table when you plan to go to the Tabing Dagat during weekends. +63 8822 754488 or send a mail: tbng_dagat@yahoo.com

And last but not least: The prices are absolutely friendly. Think of PHP 600 per person (various frehs seafood including wine, beer and soft drinks)

Bon appetit.
