( 3.3 / 12 )Peñaflorida, who grew up in Cavite city, is an advocate of education. He brings education to deprived street children armed with his Kariton Klasrum (Caddy Classroom) and the determination to give every child the chance to be better. In 1997, he established a group that encourages children to learn instead of joining gangs and fraternities. The group is called the Dynamic Teen Company (DTC). The group brought education to children in the form of a mini-library with teaching aids carried by a kariton, thus spawning the present day Kariton Klasrum.

( 3 / 17 )There are 2 Low Pressure Areas (LPA) in the Northwestern Pacific.
LPA 93W slowly moves to the southern Visayas. it does not yet bring wind, but it brings rain. This LPA produced a rainy weekend over eastern Mindanao. If the current pressure of 1006 hPa drops, the LPA may grow to a Tropical Depression (TD).

The tropical depression 26W stays south-east of Guam. It will slowly move north to northwest and increase to a typhoon of category 2. This tropical depression will not affect the Philippines.

( 3 / 11 )For over a week rainy weather haunts the southern Visayas and Mindanao. Why?
The ITCZ did move southwards about 3 weeks earlier than usual.
A zone of low pressure, now declared a tropical depression stays east of Mindanao and does not move.
This depression steers the wet air (yellow arrow) from east (from Palau) to the southern Philippines.
