We are often asked, what to bring back home from our beautiful islands.
First you should know, that it is strictly forbidden to export shells and animals. It is even strictly forbidden to export white sand from Boracay.
The name of Camiguin is a synonym for Lanzones. Lanzones are small yellow fruits with a taste of lychees and calamansi. Camiguin's lanzones are the sweetest lanzones you can find in the Philippines.
If you are at Camiguin Island in June or July you should eat ripe, fresh lanzones. You may bring them back to your friends.
Another tasty product of Camiguin is Pastel. These are soft buns filled with sweet cream of different flavors. Our favourite is the Pastel de ube. You can buy them at Vjandel's in Mambajao or anywhere on Camiguin Island in packs of 6 or 12. Camiguin Pastel is the ideal souvenir to surprise your friends back home.
And an always free souvenir are the colorful volcanic stones which you can collect on the west side of Camiguin. Once covered with a thin glossy finish, they develop their colors.
But please, do not take other things such as clams with you.
