Cyberwar in the Philippines

In relation with the Scarborough Shoal dispute, alleged Chinese hackers defaced the website of the University of the Philippines on April 20. Filipino hackers retaliated on April 22 and the cyber-war has persisted and spread until now.

We do not know, whether other attacks are linked or not, but we experience problems with  Philippines related websites:

• The DNS entry of our neighbor’s website had been altered. Instead of their website another commercial website showed up under their domain name. This problem is resolved.
• Since begin of this week our feedback and inquiry forms were spammed. Every day we got tons of e-mails with nonsense content from our website. We had to strengthen our protection by making our captcha picture more complicatedly and unfortunately less readable.
