C U in Panglao

CU in Alona, Panglao

See you in Panglao – that’s OK. But “C U” in Panglao is one of the best restaurants in the Philippines and it is in Alona on Panglao island.

There are some good restaurants in the very big cities in the Philippines. In the province you encounter what a friend calls “a culinary pampa”.

A few weeks ago we were in Alona on Panglao island. Our resident friend invited us for dinner to the “C U”. This evening had been a real discovery.

From the beginning the staff was excellent! Excellent courtesy, excellent service – we could feel that these people had had a very good training in hospitality. They could have come directly out of the “Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne”.

And then the menu! A very rich choice of international cuisine at very reasonable prices. We chose a Chateaubriand for PHP 680 per person including delicious sauces and side-dishes. Our server informed us that the salad buffet were free to help ourselves.

First: The quality had been outstanding, simply delicious. Second: The portions were so big that we couldn’t eat all. Third: The wine had exactly the right temperature.

We had to skip the dessert and finished the evening with a real Italian espresso. Mamma mia!!!

The chef of the “C U Restaurant” is Uli Ostermayer, a German national. After having worked in many esteemed hotels around the globe, Chef Uli found his home in Panglao, Bohol when he became Executive Chef of Alona Palm Beach Resort and Restaurant.

We warmly recommend the “C U Restaurant” Link
