Orthography – it’s more fun in the Philippines
Pinoys have a funny orthography. In their original indigenous languages – there are over 90 of them – Filipinos do not distinguish F an P. You can even read this on the banknotes: Rebublika ng Pilipinas.
J is pronounced like H and H remains H. So Mambajao is not Mambatchao but Mambahao or Jagna isn’t Tchagna but hagna.
They also happily mix up he and she. That’s no problem – for this circumstance you find “baklas” anywhere.
And then came the cellphones. A real heaven for Pinoy language artists.
