No smile – no drink :-(
If you fly with Hong Kong based airline Cathay Pacific during Christmas holiday, you might miss the usual smile and your drink. Why? Because of a wage dispute the flight attendants threatened to strike over the holidays.
You would possibly get no food and no alcohol and no longer smile and being greeted, if the management should not meet the staff’s demands. “The way the company treats us, makes us loose our smile,” union chief Tsang Kwok Fung said Thursday.
The financially troubled airline has offered the personnel for the coming year a two per cent wage increase, the union wants five percent.
