The new regulation, which will be released by June, mandates budget airlines to be clear with their marketing promotions.
The government earlier called the attention of disgruntled passengers of budget airlines regarding poor services and deceptive advertisements concerning their low fare marketing promotions and urged them to go to the DTI.
Passenger air traffic in the first quarter of the year rose by 13 percent to 5.16 million compared to 4.57 million a year ago, the CAB reported.
This was attributed to the aggressive marketing promotion of budget airlines, offering as low as 1 Peso base fare for early booking.
