Strong Habagat causes landslides in Zambales

First Typhoon USAGI / Odette created a strong air suction and now two Low Pressure Areas (LPA) 93W and 92W amplify the southwest monsoon locally called Habagat.

The result is that Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces and Mindoro, Marinduque, Romlon, Palawan still experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms.

Nineteen people were killed while two others were missing after landslides triggered by these rains. Nine of the fatalities were retrieved at Wawandue village in Subic town, four in Aglao and Banalawan villages in San Marcelino town, and one in Malaybay village in Castilejos town. Five other people died in another landslide incident in San Isidro village in  Subic town.
