Super Typhoon NEPARTAK / Butchoy now Category 5
The first Typhoon of the Storm Season 2016 is a real Monster. Approaching the costs of Taiwan it now presents gust wind speeds of up to 305 km/h. NEPARTAK / Butchoy slowed down a bit and moves towards Taiwan at 25 km/h.
The northern Philippines islands of Batayan are exposed to high storm surges. Possible coastal storm surge flooding of 1 to 7 m (3 to 24 ft) above normal tide levels, accompanied by large and dangerous battering waves can be expected along the coastal, inland lakes and beach front areas of Taiwan including Yaeyama Islands, Batanes-Calayan-Babuyan Group of Islands. Beginning Thursday afternoon until Friday afternoon (July 7 and 8).
