Kalibo (KLO) is now international
The airport of Kalibo in the province of Aklan on Panay island is now international.
The airport of Kalibo (KLO) is very important for the tourism of Boracay. The airport of Caticlan (MPH) is too small and only small aircrafts can land there. In Kalibo also big jet-liners can land. The only thing that’s still missing is an ILS (Instrument Landing System).
The full handling of international flights is not yet established. Arrival still goes through the old (domestic) airport building. All departures pass through the new building, where the furniture and paths are still a bit improvised.
