Modern Naga City

Naga City

Modern Naga City, the capital largest city of Camarines Sur has published their new governmental website today. Also today the City Council has announced the introduction of electric tricycles called e-trike.

The Naga City website

Sangguniang Panlungsod means City Council. The new website http://www.spnagacity.com/ is a state of the art website with responsive design. This means that the website can be read conveniently on any device such as PC, tablet or smart-phone. The vice-mayor of Naga City writes:

The new website of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Naga – sp.naga.gov.ph or spnagacity.com – is another manifestation of our commitment and desire to bring closer the city’s legislative body to the people of Naga.  It is a further step towards fulfilling the promise made to the Naguenos – to bring legislation into the realm and consciousness of the masses.

Silent Gardens likes this website because of its clear layout and the hope of real transparency. What we do not understand is the domain name. Why does a local government publish on a .com domain? The .gov.ph domain is forwarded to the .com domain. We also do not understand the difference between the publishing authorities of sp.naga.gov.ph and naga.gov.ph. This second government website is not readable on tablets and smart-phones.

The Naga City E-Trike

Soon to roll in Naga City. As soon as franchises be issued by the Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Naga pursuant to City Ordinance No. 2011-065, the riding public can say hello to these eco-friendly E-Trikes. You must know that the current tricycles in Naga City are about the smallest in the Philippines. Two normally built westerners cannot sit together in the sidecar. One has to sit behind the driver on the motorbike and the other one needs gymnastics-flexibility to get on and off the tricycle.

We only know that Tojo Motors will be the supplier. We do not yet know which of the 3 models will make the deal.

The range of 70 to 80 kilometers per full charge will allow about 20 rides per day.  The Litium gel batteries have a good capacity/weight balance. These e-trikes are already used in the city of Valencia.
