Typhoon USAGI / Odette 2013-09-19

At 4:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon USAGI / Odette was located at 570 km East of Tuguegarao City (17.8°N / 127.7°E). Maximum sustained winds are 220 km/h near the center and gustiness is up to 270 km/h.

 Typhoon USAGI / Odette is now Category 4 !

Typhoon USAGI / Odette is heavily amplifying the Southwest Monsoon (Hanging Habagat). Down in the south in Camiguin we measured peak gusts of 75 km/h.

Just now is Full Moon, meaning extreme high tide of 1.60 to 2.10 meters.

CAUTION: This typhoon will strengthen furthermore. Category 4+ is to be expected tonight.
